Canton Academy Garden Project

CA Garden Project

I have been spending some of my Fridays up at Canton Academy walking around in this big empty field....My daugter's teacher and another 1st grade parent have asked me to design this garden.  The idea is to start small (from top left to right...) in the back of the property and gradually work our way down the toward the school as we get more and more involvement.  So this is the long term projection for the school.  For the kids, the garden can be used for a variety of class projects and teacher's aids.  All subjects can benefit from it and can use it at any time. For me, I think that having a garden can help a younger generation understand the agrarian teachings that Jesus used in the Bible.  I hope that in addition to the academic growth, that God will use the garden to speak to each child and that a spiritual growth may occur through the seeds (literally and figuratively) that we plant.  Design is important, especially when God is the focus of the design.  My prayer is that God will use every inch of the garden to remind us that He wants to know us and to see us grow...just like the trees and the flowers and the fruits and vegetables in the garden.  After all, a garden is for growing.
